As a Wiccan and as a moderator of a pagan site I feel your pain.

The sad thing is that all the people who claim that "we're baby-@#$%ers" or that we need to find God or we're going to burn...

Statistically speaking, they are less religious than most atheists.

They just do it for the shock value, for their own personal amusement and since they cannot place value on their own lives without first belittling someone else and their life first.

I tend to ignore them. They are not worth any more of my time and emotional being than the effort it takes to delete a post or ban an account.
“There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, where the sea's asleep and the rivers dream, people made of smoke and cities made of song. Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice and somewhere else the tea is getting cold. Come on, Ace, we've got work to do.” - Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor.

Don't get the Threefold law. The bullies will get what's coming to them.

However, yes, it has been known that there are people who will go around proclaiming that they're Wiccan for shock value. I remember four of the Wiccan Tenets so to speak-to dare (that is to try new things), to know (to be constantly learning), to will/believe (that is, that you believe in what you're doing) andto be silent (that you keep any Wiccan adornments subtle and you don't go around saying you're Wiccan)

I bet Wiccans wouldn't get so much flack if there were fewer people who claim to be Wican to peeve off Christians.

CS.com has a page rank of 4 which isn't bad for a forum that doesn't advertise. I'm sure this is what happened, the general population on CS is pretty open minded and tolerant (you'd have to be to put up with the BS most of us deal with on a daily basis!).

I'm debating looking for similar domains for Pagans, too. I'm sure this one would be far more popular (since technically Wicca is a Pagan religion).

I can't believe this happened, I really hope that asshole gets what's coming to him.

That's the kind my flight-mate was. Some people actually were Wiccan and professed to her lack of knowledge or her un-serious attitude towards it.
