Interesting article about these assholes- this kinda shows how there idiots are a) far from united it seems- one of them decided to keep donations to these guys for himself. (presumably, the donations are meant to pay for supplies to help keep their occupation going. You know, beer, food, ammo, that kind of thing) Oh, and it looks like at least some of them are-metaphorically- phoning it in by staying in (presumably) some comfort in a local motel rather than actually occupying the refuge. (the point being that part of the protest is that they are willing to suffer if necessary for their cause.

Despite it never having been tested in court- and it being federal land anyway, so even IF the Oregon constitution said that improving land made it yours (which is the basis of the Bundy's claims) then it doesn't apply, since States don't have the authority to seize Federal land! Also Despite the fact that grazing fees- which is what the Bundys are actually complaining about- are 90% less than if the Bundys went to a private landowner. Oh, and most of the income goes on projects to make the lad better for grazing. Even though the costs caused by allowing the grazing are more than the grazing fees in the first place)

You may have figured out by now that I have an extremely low opinion of these idiots. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm increasingly finding myself agreeing with people who are suggesting these idiots are hoping to become martyrs- that is, cause a siege that results in them getting killed, in the hope that it will encourage people to take their side- even if they are ultimately being extremely selfish.

I'm not 100% sure, but I'm increasingly finding myself agreeing with people who are suggesting these idiots are hoping to become martyrs- that is, cause a siege that results in them getting killed, in the hope that it will encourage people to take their side- even if they are ultimately being extremely selfish.

My wife and I were talking about this the other day. I don't know much about it, honestly. Mostly what I've seen in headlines, and video/audio clips online.

That said, if I understand correctly, authorities are letting them come and go as they please. This brings up a question.

Are they getting charged with a count of trespass each time they come and go?

Fark had a thread on people doing this to them. One of the guys made an angry video responding to all the dildos they got. Farkers kept making suggestions about what to send them. My favorites were Haribo Sugar-Free Gummy Bears and Surstromming, though glitter bombs are good, too.

One of these chucklefucks just got arrested for stealing one of the government vehicles from the refuge, changing the name on the side ( but leaving the government plates on it ) then driving into town for a snack run to Safeway.
