Inappropriate Behavior Gets Teacher Suspended

A sixth grader entered a classroom early and caught a teacher watching something inappropriate on his computer. This teacher walks into another class that has other students and another teacher and starts yelling at him.

The teacher said, “What I watch as an adult is my choice. You as a child wait in the hall until you’re invited into my room — is that clear?”

I hate to break this to you, sir, but a classroom is not private.

the teacher probably should be suspended, but not as such for watching porn in the classroom, as that has overtures of watching porn in front of kids. However, this teacher should be suspended- or even fired- for watching porn at work.

On the other hand, assuming the children are supposed to wait outside the classroom, the teacher was reasonable in telling the kid off for walking into the classroom. How reasonable the language the teacher used is debatable. (oh, and there IS the secondary matter of if the kid did blackmail the teacher- if the kid seriously did demand an A for the quarter or he would tell, the kid should be punished for that. If the teacher is making it up, he should be punished for that lie.)

From what I read, it looks like the first thing the kid did was report the teacher. This negates the possibility of blackmail, since there is no longer any leverage of "Do this or I'll report it".
