Philando Castile was shot and killed by police while complying with their orders. His girlfriend livestreamed the horrific event.
The cop was acquitted of all charges. Nothing, nadda, zip. Recklessly endangering the lives of his 4-year old son in the back seat? Nope.
Un-fucking-believable. What was the jury thinking?? For shame!
I can't even imagine how awful this must be for Castile's family.
For the record, I do not condone or want vigilante or mob justice. But the US police keep murdering black people with impunity, how long will it be before folks decide to start exercising some "2nd Amendment Solutions"? If I were the officer, I'd be very worried about being on the receiving end of a contract-killer's scope.
Again I don't condone this. At least the legal system offers some token recourse. The next of kin can sue. Maybe the FBI can go after the officer for violating Castile's civil rights (though I doubt it). But if the mob decides someone needs to be
executed, to whom do we appeal that judgement to?
