I seem to remember reading a while back was that the issue with Dragonskin was it was weakened very quickly by heat and sweat, and was marginal on stopping certain calibers the military needed out of the box, then got rapidly worse in the sort of conditions it would see in the Middle East.

Might be a viable alternative for police use, tho.

The report that was made available to the media showed that it deteriorated if cooled to a very low temp, then heated to a very high temp and dropped. Forgetting, it seems that doing the same to ceramic plates fucks them up too.

Still and all, Mail Call tested on in the desert and it stopped 7.62 easy-peasy.

The reason I call foul is that both the dragonskin and XM8 episodes weren't aired by request of somesuch higher-ups. Smells fishy to me.
