That's a rather silly thing to bring up. Maybe Michael Jordan's mom *is* overprotective. None of us know her. Just because she birthed and raised a well-known athlete doesn't mean she's some sort of expert on child-rearing and breastfeeding.

I actually agree with the rest of your post. I just don't like "appeal to authority" arguments, especially when they don't even involve a genuine, recognized authority on the subject.

I nursed all 3 of my kids and pretty much weaned them off after six months, I couldn't take it if they nursed until 5 or 8!
