No one's asking you to cure it. Just self-modulate and cope. Unless AS has the heretofore undiscovered side effect of completely removing the ability to learn, then it should be possible.
Any comment I make should not be taken as an absolute, unless I say it should be. Even this one.

People with Asperger's Syndrome have the ability to learn. We have a problem with understanding social cues.

If you want to explain to me why I should continue posting in this thread, when I'm getting insulting comments thrown my way, like I'm inable to learn, feel free.

Since that's about the exact opposite of what I said, (i.e. you SHOULD be able to learn, so that's what we're advocating) I doubt anything I said would be sufficient for you.

Violetyoshi, do you want to be treated like any other person who does not have AS or any other disorder?

If so, then expect to be treated like any other person.

That's also my thought to any person who wants their kids to be in regular classes. If you want your kid treated like any other kid, then expect special help for your kid because of his disability, then you want your kid treated differently.

You can't have it both ways.

I don't think asperger's affects your ability to understand the written word. If it does, then please ignore my nest sentences. You are now trolling with your persecution complex. No one has attacked you, only your opinions. If you want to interact with other people, handicapped or not, you must stop start discussions like starting a war and everyone else your enemy.

I have to say I agree with Pedersen and BroomJockey here. I also have Asperger's, and the fact is, I was a MESS in school, and until somewhat recently a mess in other areas of life. Then, something happened. A very dear and much loved friend helped me get my head out of my ass and realize pretty much what has been said in this thread about coping with others before you can expect them to cope with you.
There are a few different ways I do this. I have an MP3 player on me almost constantly (work fortunately allows them) to drown out background noise and outside stuff. I've talked with my doc on adjusting my medications to gain greater stability. I've worked out routines for various ADL's (activities of Daily Living for those who don't speak psychobabble ), and I'm learning how to tell myself to "knock it off and think" instead of simply reacting.
The results have been rather surprising.... life has gotten easier! Things have improved! And I flatter myself that I've become a better person. (($Deity I sound incredibly vain, sorry, was just trying to give examples))
Anyway, I hope that all of this can maybe give someone else a leg up on getting better.
And sorry for the thread necromancy.

This isn't thread necromancy! Something a couple months old. THAT is thread necromancy.
