Randy Young is the man in the article that touts himself as a "Robin Hood" for those who share the sex offender label as him. There has been a lot of issues in South Florida where due to the strict rules for sex offenders to find housing that numerous offenders have had no choice but to live under the bridge (most notably the Julia Tuttle Causeway) or have so many live under the same roof or in one particular city due to the fact that there's less areas children gather (notably Broadview). NPR has a couple really good articles on that situation. I had to comment on it for my criminal justice class last season.
Well, I'm glad someone is doing something to get them back on there feet. I don't really see how we can expect them to fit in with society if we never let them.Violence has resolved more conflicts than anything else. The contrary opinion that violence doesn't solve anything is merely wishful thinking at its worst. - Starship Troopers

He might be in it for the money, or he might be in it because he knows society's basically said to sex offenders "we can't really exile you, so we'll do the next best thing," and if they don't help each other, no one will. Actually starts me down some interesting sociological thoughtways.Any comment I make should not be taken as an absolute, unless I say it should be. Even this one.

In a society that grants tax benefits to those giving to charity, how do we really know if anyone really gives from the heart?
As long as needs get met, should we even care?
I personally don't agree with mandating a "scarlet letter" to anyone, let alone those comitting only one type of crime.
Theives are certainly much more likely to offend again, so why not alert me.?
Shouldn't I be alerted when a murderer moves in next door?

I know and am friends w/ a person who is forced to live with the sex offender registry the rest of his life... for dating a 16y/o while he was 18 and her parents protesting it.
I have seen the hell he has had to go through finding a place to live. I can't imagine how the guys like him in FL do it.
We can't really know "Robin Hood's" motivations. I say at least someone is giving them a chance.

At least they are away from the bridge and living in a proper shelter. It also looks like there are a lot of these people sharing the houses too. This might give them the support base to prevent offending again.
That said there are some sex offenders that will repeat if given the chance. These limits are there to protect the children and keep the offender from going back to those habits.
