Either the cop was racist and/or he was criminally incompetent and into dick waving contests. Either way he's a bastard that needs to go down, and down hard!

I did read the post I was responding to (which claims he was only cuffed), and the article itself, which states he was booked. That means he was brought down to the courthouse and sat in a jail cell for a period of time. That is being arrested. Reading comprehension ftw.

Never made the claim of "he" I made a generic statement on said topic, nothing refering directly to the article. Reading comprehension fail.

And now to nitpick and do it again sitting in a jail cell for a period of time is not being arrested, that's being detained, when fromal charges are laid, that's being arrested.

And no, I mentioned no damn "he", I ain't talkin' about no damn article.

If you're posting in the thread it's a reasonable inferrence that you're talking about the subject at hand.

And of course Mr. Gates gets to get away with being a prick in public and disturbing the peace, right?

He did not disturb the peace except as a euphemism for being black in public.

The cop was caught in a bold faced lie. That makes the rest of his story quite suspect.

The other side of this whole thing that's kind of disturbing is the person who actually called the cops as well has been called a racist, and that she called the cops and said two black men were breaking into a house. So now she's been getting crap because she called the cops.

Yesterday they came out with the audio tapes, which clearly show she never mentioned a race only after the cops asked the question and she said one was possibly Hispanic, but she did clearly say that it might be the home owner, she wasn't sure , and the only thing that gave her concern was recent break ins and that they had to put their shoulder into opening the door.

However I don't think anyone who is calling the cops for what they believe is a valid reason should get crap for calling.

Umm obviously I wasn't thinking about the stupid people. People who think that's a valid reason need to be beaten with a stupid stick.

I'm talking about if you see a person using force to open a door, a coat hanger to get into a car, or climbing into a house through a window. Those are valid reasons to call the police.

Last I heard they said he was yelling bad language. The issue being that because of a throat infection he was incapable of yelling.
Either eay by dropping the only reasons for arresting him, make me need evidence that he wasn't just being a controlling dick cop handcuffing someone for having the audacity to question him. Maybe not racist, but certainly a dick abusing his power.

I don't necessarily know about the racist part, but I will consider the neighbor to be a freaking idiot, since she apparently doesn't even know what her neighbor looks like.
I'm not expecting neighborhoods to be like Mayberry and have people running next door to borrow a cup of flour, but for pete's sake, you should at least LOOK at who lives around you.

Who said she was a neighbor? Yes she was at a neighbor's house, but she's from Malden. I dunno maybe she's the maid, babysitter, news doesn't say why she was at the house.

But this proves the point. That many people speak before they know the facts, and hence why she's getting called crap just because she called 911
