And I say again, I wasn't in any physical pain when I was under nitrous. Once was getting my wisdom teeth removed, once was getting my lip stitched, once was getting my premolars removed, and once was for... something I don't remember anymore. But I do remember my lip not hurting at all, despite the lack of a local and the large hole where my teeth went through it.
As a kitten, our cat Smackers figured out how to open our front door. Even after watching him do every day, our other cat can't figure out how do it.

Yes, you were in pain physiologically. But because the NO blocked it from getting to your cerebrum it didn't hurt.

It's still physical pain, not emotional. Exactly the type you said wasn't blocked. You simply said "didn't care." That's different. Not hurting != not caring about being hurt.
Any comment I make should not be taken as an absolute, unless I say it should be. Even this one.

Physical pain is what is felt by the primitive parts of the brain. They cause blood vessel constriction etceter. NO is weird in how it blocks the higher brain function's "caring" or "ouch effect" about pain. I'm afraid that I'm not making myself clear. I think my word choice is detracting from my point.
I may have to just chalk this up to my wonky way of writing and just admit defeat.

I feel silly for thinking it was NO instead of N2O.

I don't condone what Michael Vick did, but I also do believe in second chances to a certain degree. Yes, he did the time and yes he is paying his debt to society. I don't feel sorry for him to be honest, because he made the choice to engage in something that was not only illegal but also downright atrocious and I don't blame the teams for rejecting him.
