Interesting use of the word "most."

To me, that'd be a valid disclaimer. "I'm not talking about a specific person, but a continually repeating event that each time includes a different set of people." Or some much less awkwardly worded variant. It's the difference between being annoyed at a person and being annoyed by events.
Any comment I make should not be taken as an absolute, unless I say it should be. Even this one.

Except that, unless if you flat-out say so, no one on the internet knows you're white. Any race can be racist, even people of the same race.

I hate people who just judge a disclaimer in the opposite direction. My opinion has always been " Racist? Do you know how to read? Are you retarded? Austistic? Did you attend an English speaking school? If you had, you would have read that I just said 'I'm not racist." Therefore, I'm not racist. You can argue all you want and all you'll prove is how dumb you really are, because I clearly said I'm not racist. Are you the stupidest person on the planet?"

Somehow, I doubt it. Stop assuming you're so much more moral than everyone else. Vanity ain't pretty. /rant

yes please members of the "moralistic minority" some/most/possibly all of us "marginalized groups*" DO NOT WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH ASSHOLES LIKE YOU!!!!

Please to not be making people think we are in ANY way associated with you. If I meet you on the street I may be tempted to bitchslap your superior-"holier-than-thou" attitude into next week.

*I am Autistic, and depending on which of the family history records is accurate(we don't know, as at least one of them has got to be forged/fake-we have at last count 6-no one knows which is accurate)possibly Jewish, and also Sicilian(I hate the "all Sicilians are Mafioso" crap)

Autistic people are capable of reading. I have Asperger's Syndrome. Any other "claims" you want to make about retarded people? Hmm, we're smart enough to know not to assume a large group of people are dumb, just cause society can't handle neurodiversity.

Well would you rather people get up in arms, screaming "Not everyone of that group is like that, ahhhh!"

Well, did you MEAN to imply that nearly all members of nonwhite ethnic groups sit around and troll the internat all day, looking for reasons to be offrended? Because that is what I got from your post.

                  Please clarify.

I am kind of flabbergasted here that you are seemingly annoyed with one poster for making a blanket statement about autistics, while in the same post defending your own blanket statement about nonwhites.

                  Am I misreading something?

I simply was stating a reality, that people will get upset about such issues, unless it's clear those statements aren't made offensively.

I would comment more about my statement I made regarding the word retard, but I was informed that the only place you can discuss that is here:

                    http://www.fratching.com/showthread....ghlight=retard

BroomJockey doesn't want this thread becoming off topic. Hopefully you can respect that.

Well, I was simply commenting on the "accusitions of racism" thing. I said nothing about the use of the other word; you are correct in saying there is a whole other thread devoted to that.

I was commenting on the idea that "most" (the word "most", I am assuming means "more than half of the entire group of") minorities are out on the internet looking for trouble. That's NOT a reality, by the way.

                      I'm pretty confident I'm dead-on topic, actually.

I realize that there are overly sensitive jackasses with persecution complexes out there, and they come in every race, creed, and gender. I'm not going to pretend I don't know that. That IS a reality. However, to say that "most minorities" are like that is not true. In fact, that right there is a pretty racist statement. Maybe you didn't mean for it to come across that way, but I could certainly see how it could be taken that way.

I see, if I said "Most White people go out of their way to provoke minorities on the internet" would that be seen as racist as well?

Um...are you seriously questioning that it might NOT be?

If you make a race based sweeping generalization that most people in a group are bad somehow, it's racist. You just jumped on another poster for making a generalization about a group of people, but you did the exact same thing about a different group of people. Then you busted on him and defended yourself in the same post.

I'm saying to you that if you encounter a persistant pattern of minorities being offended and thinking you are a racist on various message boards, you might consider how you are coming across.

I'm just glad that i've always considered myself almost impossible to offend cause I just can't imagine the amount of effort some people put into it.

And I've always followed my brothers take on sticking people in groups, "Why hate someone for being part of some group when I can hate them all individually!"

p.s. My big bro is awesome

A radio personality (I can't remember who) had a similar take on racism: "There are so many good reasons to hate people. Why go with skin colour?"

I suspect it's mostly because it's very easy to tell who's who.
