Ummm...I beg to differ on that one.

Look at the post numbers. Yours came first.

    Point to Ponder:

Is it considered irony when someone on an internet forum makes a post that can be considered to look like it was written by a 3rd grade dropout, and they are poking fun of the fact that another person couldn't spell?

Thank you very much Lace and McDreidel for trying to get this back on topic.

I agree, it was a momentary lapse of concentration.

Entirely. It is physiologically impossible for any human being to pay 100% of their attention to any one child at all times. Everyone's had their concentration lapse at a bad time (missing your stop on a bus, missing your off-ramp, missing your plate with your food), this was just at the worst possible time.

Heck, when I was a kid, my parents turned around for a split-second while I was running back to the house at the age of 2, when I tripped on a crack in the sidewalk and split my chin open. This didn't make them bad parents, it just meant they were human, and as such, were unable to be perfect.

You know, it's funny, but I saw the video on the news very shortly after it became an international sensation, and my very first thought was, "OMG, how awful. Thank God that little baby wasn't seriously hurt."

It never occurred to me that the Mom was at fault in any way, or that she might be milking things or even exploiting it for financial gain by allowing the video to be released or by doing interviews.

I just figured she felt it was such an amazing and miraculous thing that she probably couldn't believe it and wanted to tell the world.
I would probably do the same thing.

Ree, that was my idea too. Until I saw the comments on the particular article as well. I swear I live in a cynical state.

I was going to refute that claim, then realised I really can't.

Gotta be SA. It's like a giant negative camp down there.

Actually, you probably could. I just don't think too much as far as politics go....although then again, whenever work messes around with my hours, I'm convinced they hate me.
