  • Husband "builds" a new wife

    http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/925...his-ideal-wife

I don't know how I feel about this. I mean the wife is happy with her new body. But if I knew that my husband thought I wasn't attractive to begin with I don't think I would be too happy about being with him. Hell I don't think I would have married him in the first place.

But each to their own I spose :S

Right, I've several conflicting opinions about this, and none are winning out. So in no particular order...

      1. I'd hate for this to become a common thing.

      2. Well, she's happy, so I can't bitch too much.

      3. Guy's a plastic surgeon, of course his views on people's looks are going to be a little skewed.

      4. Aren't some women often talking about how "I can change him, I know he's got potential," and such? Well, usually, they're talking about pretty guys, and improving their personality, and this guy took a women who (presumably) he meshed with on a personality basis, and then changed her looks. I'd say that actually puts him above any woman who thinks she can alter a guy's personality to the better. After all, personality's more important.

      5. Why isn't there a before and after? For all we know, it's all minor changes and if you saw her before, then saw her a few months later, you'd be hard pressed to pick out the alterations (except for the boobs. F cups? Jeebus. Excessive.).

Any ways, those are my random thoughts.
Any comment I make should not be taken as an absolute, unless I say it should be. Even this one.

Whatever makes *them* happy. It's not something I'd do, but I'm not them.

maybe he picked a girl with severe self-esteem issues so he could do this to "make" her happy(sorry I've always felt those that opt for cosmetic surgery could better spend the money on the therapy they probably need-women with breast augmentation have a significantly higher suicide rate)-plus hey she went from waitress to model and wife of a surgeon....maybe money makes her happy-not my thing but meh....(I'd rather have someone that cares and spends time with m than money)

I'm disgusted on some levels...but...well...she's happy...so...I can't tell them they are wrong, exactly.

I guess he'll divorce her in a few years and marry another younger model? If looks are all that's important to him...That's what bothers me about the whole thing.

Looks fade. I don't care who ya are or how many surgeries you've had. If it's all about the looks, your relationship is ultimately doomed. I think that's what makes me sad for this woman. I think this is mostly why I'm disgusted with her husband.

This is reported to come from the Sun in the UK. It's hard to describe the Sun as a serious newspaper. Well, impossible, really. It's not the 'bomber found on the moon' type, but it deals in very superficial readthroughs of complex matters, often with an eye to pictures of attractive young ladies, and aims at people who don't want to have to think about their reading material.

I'm pretty much convinced there's far more to the tale than this.

Who here wants to see a picture of the husband as much as I do? I mean, surely he must be a german Adonis, a veritable uebermench of physicality. Otherwise, he'd just be another soulless fucking hypocrite. No way THAT could be true!

"It's almost like being God — you have the ability to change nature," the newspaper quoted him as saying.

I personally find it a bit sad that people feel the need to undergo plastic surgery, with the pain and risks, in order to think they look good, but to each their own.

This guy seems fixated on his version of beauty, and that is sad. I would guess the woman was insecure and that is why she went along with it. And she probably thinks she is happier because people pay her to stand around in a bikini. I think his attitude borders on emotionally and medically (?) abusive.

He is taking a woman, telling her she has to risk her life and go through all these surgeries to be acceptable to him. That seems manipulative and abusive to me but what do I know.

For those wanting before and after of the young lady in question, there's a link on the article leading to http://www.news.ninemsn.com.au/slide...plasticsurgery

The second picture on there is the one you want. Can't seem to find one of her husband, though.

We should start a betting pool on whether or not this guy is bald.

Secondly, apparently, this is he... Reza Vossough - not Adonis (although, it is hard to tell the difference....)

Well clearly from the, "A woman is a jewel to enhance a man" line he is sexist.

I look around my country and I see "beautiful people" with "beautiful people" I dont' see people that look past looks. Just saying.
