So I could eat three large pizzas a day, wash it all down with milkshakes, and I wouldn't gain any weight as long as I do it on a schedule?

Is it possible to get off the bus/train a stop early and walk the rest of the way?

The best reason to not eat too much too close to bedtime is that it can interfere with your sleep, and not getting enough sleep can be a factor in weight problems.

I even read some articles suggesting the exercise won't help you lose weight. It's good for you, but won't slim you down.

I believe that, but to a point. An uptick in activity will drop a few pounds off, but by itself is a lousy way to try and lose weight.
The problem is a lot of people see exercise as a license to eat more junk. "Oh, I did an hour on the treadmill, I can have the chocoate cake after dinner." Not realizing that that slice of cake contains more calories than they just burned off on the treadmill.

The only beverages that don't count towards your liquid intake is alcohol. Even caffeine isn't as dehydrating as alcohol. And if you eat lots of fruits and vegetables you get lots of water that way, too.

You'll have to do enough exercise to counter that much overeating, but let me make it clear that I never said that this alone would make you not gain weight. Controlling your metabolism was only one part of what I described.

          .

Amen. Oh, man, this drives me up a wall. Except in the case of my niece. She's a big, blonde bombshell of an athelete. Heavy, strong, packing fat in all the right places and regularly runs marathons.

She likes to eat. She admit it's. And she's okay with being well padded and curvy. One reason she runs every single morning is so she CAN eat cheesecake. So she's not eating to reward herself for indulging. She's running so she can do a little damage control on her indulging. No run, no treat.

But if you are trying to lose weight by running on a treadmill or whatever, don't undo all that work by eating crap when you are done.

But yeah. Controlling your metabolism is key to not only weight loss but a host of other health issues.

As for water, your body will function on less, but if you are trying to lose weight you should drink enough that it makes you shed your excess water weight. Sometimes I take inventory of myself if I am feeling flabby. I drink enough water that it triggers a water purge. Then I access what kind of shape I am in. You would be amazed at how much this will slim you down. Women especially retain water, if you can get rid of some it, you might find you don't really need to lose as much fat as you thougth you did.

When I was in Vegas, I was stunned at how slim I became. I did not do well in the Vegas lack of humidity. It did bad things to me physically and I dried out so bad my nose and throat bled. I had no excess water in my body anywhere. Felt terrible, but I looked great.

            Snopes says you're wrong.

Especially about the "not beverages that happen to have water in them" part.
Technically, but my stance is more then about dehydration, which is more what that was about. Water has 0 calories, 0 carbs, sodium, etc. While most other drinks have something else added to them. So it wasn't about Dehydration, but the additives. Now true there are other 0 cal, 0 carb drinks out there..but they almost always have some other thing (like sodium, etc) added in them. Yes some of the additives are not harmful for you, that much I will freely admit.
Of course some water now has things you really don't want to drink either, so ...
