  • And while we are on the subject of out of control law "enforcement"...

    Cops attack gay club.

Good to know we can all live without the fear that a man might be in a club somewhere dancing or drinking a beer.

Well, if cops have the right to tackle pregnant women, they certainly have the right to make gay men lie in glasss.... /sarcasm.

I get that they didnt handle these guys with kid-gloves, but I still dont get why they were in there in the first place. The article doesnt make it very clear, unless I misread. The walmart analogy is a powerful one if you think about it.
"Imagine if the police walked into a Wal-Mart and see someone shoplifting, and because they see what they think is a crime taking place in Wal-Mart, they take everyone at Wal-Mart, throw them on the floor, spread their legs, put their hands in their pockets, take their IDs, put their name in the computer, simply because they're out of place or someone else may or may not be doing something wrong," co-counsel Daniel Grossman said at a news conference Tuesday.
And since when is dancing in underwear illegal?!

I've been in a couple gay clubs, and in every case I had to be WITH someone who was a member. They were private clubs. You coudn't even tell they were clubs until you got inside, they were pretty much hidden from the outside.

In other words, they were private clubs. I imagine you could dance buck ass naked while drunk out of your mind if you want to.

Well, hell, that is right, isn't it? I mean, we have plenty of clubs where people dance buck ass naked. They are called strip clubs. I wonder if any of these cops frequent such extablishments?

Depends on the areas indecency laws I'd say.

Well clubs have to be licensed to have strippers, there was mention in the article about a breach of the adult entertainment laws or some such.

              Health Code still applies.

Not sure why health code is relevant here.

But let's say it is. Okay.

I go to eat in a restaurant and they are storing raw chicken on a shelf above the deserts in the walk in. Place gets busted. I have to lay in broken glass for two hours because of this?

Also, I'm pretty sure you can't detain someone for two hours without arresting them.

Dancing in your underwear while serving people? Really?

I am unable to find where it says they were serving people in the article. Did I miss it?

(seriously, I may have. If I did, show me. If I didn't, that is quite a leap there.)

Okay, again, so what if they were? Arrest them.

So, if I go to a male review and some dude in a banana hamock brings me a drink, and it turns out that he is scantily clad without a licence, you are telling me I am the one going to get busted?

                    You cannot possibly be serious.

I thought it said it was the workers who were doing it. Guess not.

And I never said a word about anyone deserving of being busted.

*sighs* It never changes. I was standing across the street from the gay club we were frequenting on a public sidewalk to get away from the smoke and the noise for a bit we were all chatting. The security guard of that building called the cops because he thought we were going to break the windows (stated reasoning)

Then no less than 3 cop cars showed up saw us hanging out talking and started harassing us wanting to know why the heck we were there.

The only slightest possibility I could see is if they had strict laws about little/no clothing establishments, like the city I live in has.

We can't have strip clubs, or even a Hooters here (well, I'm pretty glad for that, the closest strip club is over 20 miles away).....and I can assume if a bar or restaurant got busted, it'd be legit.

Wow! There are some girls here that would be very upset if that were the case here.
