They actually are cooked over a gas flame, surprisingly. My little corner of the kitchen when I worked there could get very hot thanks to that broiler. BKs tend to be one of the cleaner fast food places in my experience, too, but that can of course be hit and miss (I got some really nasty food poisoning at the one in the Beckley plaza on I-77 in WV). My sister claims Wendy's is actually the worst for food safety, but I've got no evidence and I like their burgers the best so I don't worry about it.

    Anyway, on-topic.

I have a feeling that even if minimum wage was abandoned, prices wouldn't drop much if at all. Simply because nobody will really pay that much attention if they stay the same, and with reduced labor expenses your profits have suddenly shot up. Meanwhile, the company pays only what the market will support, which could be as low as $0.50 an hour in places, I'm sure.

There's always someone willing to work for a tiny wage, just because it's better than nothing.
