I've seen on CS that in some areas, breaks are not required and in my opinion they should be. Breaks would give the employees time to relax, maybe have some food and/or a drink (non alcoholic), and possibly clear their heads so they are able to focus on their jobs.

..and for those who work outside, to go in and warm up. Had an assisstant manager suggest this the other day."I take it your health insurance doesn't cover acts of pussy."

I had to do that once and ended up staying an extra 45 minutes to cover the time I had to clock out because I didn't feel good.

I didn't know that was allowed in other states. In NJ, you are required 15 minutes worth of break for every four hours of work.Violence has resolved more conflicts than anything else. You're in the wrong country.
Australia has specific laws about allotted break times, and if you need to go pee, then you can - and the employer can't say jack-shit about it. Of course, excessively taking such breaks - or for too long, and you'll have a chat. Which, eventually, may lead to getting fired... but hopefully that's extreme!
When I was working on the roads, the only reason we didn't kick too much of a stink was a) we got other benefits instead, b) most of those on the job new how to handle things, and c) the bosses weren't around. Possibly d), we could seriously had them in deep shit if they didn'tZOE: Preacher, don't the Bible got some pretty specific things to say about killing?
SHEPHERD BOOK: Quite specific. It is, however, Somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps.

Update: I checked again and it's 5 1/2 hours not 5.Last edited by Sarah Valentine; 05-21-2010, 06:14 PM."I like him aunt Sarah, he's got a pretty shield. It's got a star on it!"
