  • Now that it's on youtube...

What is your thoughts on the prop 8 trial now that the re-enactments are on youtube and you've had a chance to watch them.
(if you haven't seen them yet, they can be seen at http://www.marriagetrial.com/ )
I haven't gotten past the first episode yet, but I fail to see how ANYTHING the pro-8 people say can reasonably county the anti-8 people. Sadly, our legal system is based on laws, not right and wrong, so we'll have to wait and see.
(then again, *mandatory anti-Christian bias statement, you have been warned* we are a Christian nation, 'right' would be for me to be stoned to death on Main Street Plaza... maybe I'll settle for the inequity of US legal code rather than facing the violence and bigotry of Biblical code).

Having followed the day-by-day reports while the trial was in progress, I'm more than a little embarrassed by the defense. Really: only two witnesses, and both of them basically agree with everything in the plaintiffs' case? I don't know how hopeful to be of the *outcome,* but the testimony, at least, seems to show plainly which side is in the right. I'm still sorely tempted to wish for a conservative justice or two to fall on the Metro tracks before this gets that far, though.
