I fail to see how that could be anything but sexual; plus, there was an element of sadism to the crime. Not all sex crimes include rape. And in the book I have where the crime is detailed, it's described as a sex crime. In any case, I'm thinking that anyone who doesn't think it is just finds it hard to believe that a ten year old boy could commit a sexual crime against anyone. If that's the case, then I suggest they read this: http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/uk...6908-21989051/

Just for pain purposes? The Home Secretary has stated that the information won't be released until the justice system has concluded; this suggests to me that there may be a trial and that to ensure he has a fair trial (he is entitled to one after all) with no hint of irregularities nor hope of a loophole the information won't be released for some time.

I've never understood why if a dog kills someone, it gets put down, but if a person murders someone, they can get treated with kid gloves.

Can children be evil? Btw, I did read in the News Of The World that it's possible that Venables' fate could be decided by a parole board and that the James Bulger crime was sexual (stripped below the waist, genital injury) but certain elements were never aired in court to protect the parents' feelings. However, I'm not sure how reliable a source the News Of The World is.

The ultimate act of evil is not that which is done in ignorance of it's malevolence, rather that which is done in full knowledge of it's cruelty and evil, but chosen to be done anyway. Kid's are at the same time smarter and simpler than we think they are. Perhaps they didn't understand the full notion of their wrongdoing, but they undoubtedly knew that what they were doing was wrong, that it caused immeasurable suffering and pain. They reveled in it.

Doesn't get anymore evil than that, and I don't really give a shit how they got that way.
