  • 43 stone mother determined to become world's fattest woman

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/ar...man-years.html

I'd say, leave her to it but for one, or rather, two reasons; she has children. Poor kids; they will end up caring for their selfish mother before she finally expires and then they will be left orphans. This woman should be sectioned and made to see a psychiatrist.

Clarification. This woman is American, so here's what 43 stones is in pounds; nearly 602 pounds. o_O

There should be a law that people that large (not due to some medical condition that someone would bring up if I didn't put this disclaimer) have to feed themselves, noone is allowed to bring them food in their home, noone is allowed to cook the food for them in their home and they cannot have food delivered. You want to eat nothing but Big macs until you explode? get up and go to McDonalds yourself. There should be no government assistance for them as well.

I don't know about world's fattest woman, but if she carries on like this, she's going to be the world's deadest woman soon. -.- Either from a heart attack brought on by her lifestyle and diet, or cuz she has an accident and dies on the operating table.

I certainly agree with you; she lives in America, so all you healthy people are paying for her to stick her head in the trough thru your health insurance and taxes. No mention of a job so I assume she's on welfare.

The kids of course will go into care. Seeing as their mother will in all likelyhood be dead before long, it would be just as well. Seeing as she has no interest in doing anything save eating, she doesn't seem like she cares much about her kids anyway. O_o

I love how in the article, she says that her children have become a hindrance to her weight crusade. She keeps having to burn calories by chasing after those dern kids!!

Ah, people have got to have a hobby...

As with all newspapers, though, the Mail does like to pick out the most outstanding facet of human existence for our prurient interest. However, I cannot see how those quotes attributed could have been taken out of context.

The bit that gets me is that she thinks it's harming nobody. To give birth involved a team of thirty medics. Didn't they have other things they could be doing? Maybe saving lives? Sure, birth these days involves a fair number of people, but not that many.

What also strikes me is the hidden message. She's not doing it just because she likes eating. I love eating, all done and said, but I wouldn't eat to that extent. The striking bit is that she loves the admiration from other men and her husband. It's very much a message of "I'll kill myself to feel loved."

                She obviously has mental issues.
She needs mental therapy of some kind.

No rational person would seriously behave that way.

I like food, and I have a problem with maintaining my weight.
Most days, I'm lucky if I eat one full meal, but other days, I have no idea how many calories I consumed.

I am also an emotional/stress eater, and sometimes, I will just eat and eat and not even realize exactly I'm doing it when I'm upset and nibbling.

When it does dawn on me, the guilt I feel is terrible, which leads to more eating.

It's a problem I am aware of, and I work to fight against it, but I don't always succeed.

I'm not proud of it at all, and I certainly wouldn't deliberately seek to balloon to over 1,000 lbs just to get some attention and feel validated.

She needs to have mental health professionals intervene with this before it's too late.
                Point to Ponder:

Is it considered irony when someone on an internet forum makes a post that can be considered to look like it was written by a 3rd grade dropout, and they are poking fun of the fact that another person couldn't spell?

The Daily Mail is a tabloid. Its about as reliable as the Weekly World News but not as entertaining.

Right so you believe those photos are photoshopped and this woman does not exist? And is the Telegraph also included in the condemnation?

                    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/news...s-fattest.html

I have many other sources for your perusal. I never post anything without checking it has other sources.

Also, you have gotten it wrong about the Mail. It's the red tops that are as you describe; those are often peppered with apologies and corrections in little boxes at the back of the paper. The Mail and Express are normally fairly reliable as far as news stories go.

I don't believe anyone said that at all.

Sorry if I'm reading things that aren't there, but I think that elsporko said that the source wasn't to be relied on, so I provided another source. If he just wanted verification, then I apologise. Just that I find it a bit iffy when someone doesn't comment on a story, just says that the source is unreliable.

I assume the comparison to the Weekly World News was where you got the idea that he was questioning the validity of the story, but I read it as being more of a critiquing of the source.

I think elsporko was saying something similar to what Raps said.
The Daily Mail is a tabloid rather than what one would consider a serious newspaper.
They go for the sensational and rely on the shock value of a story rather than presenting the actual news angle.

That's not accusing them of making up news at all or photoshopping pictures.

Ah right. Anyway, the Telegraph also ran the story and that's a broadsheet.

I read this article on another website and I think it is sad. I am currently going in the opposite direction of this woman and I know from experience that being bigger in not healthier. She may not live long enough to see her children graduate middle school.

Another issue I have with this is her husband/boyfriend supporting her in this. I think he need mental help too. She states she is doing this to make him happy so in a way he warping her thought process so she to eats more. The way I'm seeing this he is killing her. He is doing it slowly but he is still killing her.
