Seriously I agree with Plaid.. I think bullies should be taken out and horse whipped. I pitty the school *if squee goes to PS* if my daughter comes home and is tormented by a bully... and god help those parents of said bully.

I was bullied in school... had my ass kicked a few times... but the beatings stopped when I beat the holy snot out of one of the studly jocks... I may have tits... but I am the only girl and I had all older brothers. How ever the verbal abuse continued.. to the point that I stopped attending my classes... and shit screw telling the teachers.. cause they were just as bad as their pets... my mom tried... she did... but in the end...if you are not one of the "pop" kids then it doesnt matter...

Sadly when Columbine happened.. I felt bad for everyone.. and anger at everyone.. Even HS students pushed so far will lash out in anyway possible to make it stop... I had thoughts of shooting people that tormented me in school... the only reason I didnt.. was because I had a bigger fear of my parents.. .that and I grew up with guns... I know what they do.. and how final it is...

You may know right from wrong in HS but you are still developing emotionally and you are not always rational... and some people when tormented enough figure no one will help them or can help them and they take the only way out that they can think of... some it is violence... some it is killing themselves... me.. I just refused to go to class.

All I know is, that despite the fact that it's wrong, I just don't see how the teachers will ever be able to stop it. And if my kid gets a suspension for fighting back, not only would he not get in trouble from me, (s)he'd probably get taken out for dinner every night. I'd be damned proud.

That was pretty much my parents' attitude. My week's suspension wasn't a punishment; it was more like having an unauthorised holiday from school cuz my parents were completely on my side as far as the other girl escaping punishment went.

I was once suspended for fighting back once, my mother decided it was a great opportunity to take the RV up to the Northern California coast, and my teacher who knew damned well what had happened (but had his hands tied by the administration, both with my suspension and what happened with the bully but was not permitted to do anything towards the bully because he never 'technically' broke any rules... bullshit) the afternoon after the fact personally drove over to my mom's house with a pile of papers saying "I know I technically should give him a zero for everything this week, but as long as these are on my desk first day he's back I'll be willing to accidentally overlook that they are the assignments during the suspension period".
It's not always the teachers who don't care, many of them do (sadly most don't), but the administrations won't let them do anything about it because that requires too much effort on their part as well.

From what I've understood, in many parts of the US, the treatment Plaidman got would be enough to justify lethal force against the attacker, which is the proper way to deal with sociopathic fuckups. Swiftly and lethal, and to hell if their family gets butthurt from losing their father or spouse, the blame is solely on the person who got his head ventilated.

A response must be proportional. For example, someone starts a fight with you in a bar. You're using your fists. The moment one of you pulls a weapon (knife, gun, broken bottle) that person has escalated the fight and is to blame for the outcome of the fight. If the unarmed person is killed, the armed individual would recieve at least *Man 2.

Awesome. Not all kids have parents like that. Alot of kids get scared parents. Or mothers who freak you since you have a pretty decent size tumor on your head and no skull covering on it. So a good enough hit, can pretty fuck you up.

But right. I need to go out punching a brick wall and hope to god that that bully won't punch me back. That's your advice.

Lucky. I wish my bullying was just two fights. Life would have been much better. I fought back, got my ass handled to me, and then got repeatedly fought more and more. Til one time a bully brought his little brother who again, kicked my ass. Oh how the school laughed on that one.

Not all people are physically capiable of fighting. Some people couldn't lift thirty pounds, or couldn't run a block without wheezing. What do you expect them to do?

Just grow stronger. Well no. Not all people can do that. That's why some snap and go to extremes, becauses its the only damn why to stop being bullied period is to fear of death into them. The exact same fear they instill into all the people they pick on. That is how one makes them to stop period.
