Some threads got me thinking...
I am very traditional in someways and progressive in others. I believe in God but I don't hate people that are gay, or who have abortions or do things I don't believe in. We have free choice for a reason. I believe that a parent should stay home if they are able... I think that it is my job to raise the family to cook and the like... I know that I can do anything a man can do, but I am happy in the traditional role of "housewife".
I don't think everyone should "win" after all you learn from losing. But I have watched as some people have pushed the everyone is a winner motto. I don't like smut on tv.. but I believe that it is up to me to watch or not watch, to read or not to read etc.
I try not to judge anyone cause I know my house is fragile glass. Some of my views are R and some are D and some are in between.
I am against the whole PC thing.. I don't have to like anyone or anything.. but I do have to respect your right to hold a different view.
I am against illegal immigrants regardless of what nation that they come from.. I am all for immigration done legally.
I am for gun rights... but I am also for gun control
I believe that we are more segregated today then we were in the 50's. America suffers from us vs them...
Religion Vs Atheists
Gays vs straights
R vs D
Christian vs Muslim
Majority vs minority
What ever happened to embracing diversity?
Give and take...
Every group has it's bigots
I am proud that I am a mutt.. My grandfather was Indian, a ggrandmother was mulatto, I had an uncle from Central Mexico, an adopted aunt from Korea, I am Irish a bit English and french..
My Race is human.. my nationality is American
I am proud of my mixed heritage... saddened that I get insulted if I mention that African is part of my make up because I look whiteish, that I get told I don't know about discrimination...
Humans are fragile things.... they fear things out of their norms... which is pretty normal.. you dont have to like anyone.. but you do have to respect their rights..
Marriage should be simply defined as a union between 2 consenting adults.
churches dont have to preform any ceremony they don't agree.
we have forgotten that it is ok to disagree, to not like something, to be part of a group and not agree with all that the group say.. I believe religion should not be bed fellows with politics.
Shit I hope that makes sense...
