Basically, P-Platers (which is sort of a middle ground between learners permit and full licence, you can drive on your own, but the fastest you can go is 100km/h even if you're on a road with a 110km/h speed limit, you can't drink or do drugs AT ALL while driving, you can't get any more than 3 demerit points and you have to hold it for two years.) are now being told what cars they can and can't drive in an effort to clamp down on "hooning."
My opinion? while good, I REALLY wish they'd go and just flat out crush them while forcing the driver to watch. (and the owner if it isn't the driver's car)
What makes this one funny? Well, read the list of cars they aren't allowed to drive:
http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/s...-1225886887758
The list includes the following: Aston Martins, Audis (quite a few models), Mercedes Benz (a few models), ALL Porsches after 1994 (wtf?), Ferrari's, Lamborghinis, Maserati, Rolls Royce, Chrysler (OK, that one's understandable as I do not see a lot of small model Chryslers on the road) as well as quite a few cars that are understandably banned but are more the type that young P-Platers are actually going to BUY.
No offence to those who do own those particular makes of cars, but the Astons, mercedes, Porsche, Maserati, Rolls Royce cars all fall under the category of "substitute penismobiles" for me. (Ferrari and Lamborghinis tend to fall under that category to an extent-you don't see them much in Ausland)
