    Red Panda offends me.

And I have pointed out that those people gain wieght, but not enough to be one of the 400 pound behemoths who gross out everybody and ruin things. If anybody can show proof of a disease that causes wieght gains of more then 200 pounds then show me proof.

I'm not trying to defend Red Panda here. I'm just looking for some concession in the fact that while there are SOME people that suffer from medical conditions, there are also SOME people that claim to have them or use them as an excuse to cover up for the fact that they eat enough for 4 or 5 people. Then there are SOME people that don't hide behind them and eat enough for 4 or 5 people.

SOME = I really don't feel like googling statistics right now.

I've come across people like that...being fat can be like any other disorder/syndrome; there have to be the jerks that ruin everything for the people who do really suffer with it through no fault of their own.

Although there is a way to tell; those that truly have a medical reason generally try to mitigate the negative aspects for others (I say generally as I'm sure there are those who just say "screw it, if I have to suffer than everyone should").

Also fat people demand to be treated like they have a disability when they control if they are fat or not. They want all kinds of special treatment like extra airplane seats, motoized carts, use of handicap spaces and stalls, and specially sized clothes but they aren't themselves negating their need for these things by taking proper care of themselves.
First, smell is related to hygiene, not weight, the two are in no way related.
Second, if we were to ban anything that people considered offended, non of us would be allowed to leave the house. I find the site of spiked hair to be ridiculous and somewhat offensive (okay, not really, but lets say I do for the sake of argument), would you support me going around saying that everyone who has spikey hair needs to be introduced to a razor and shouldn't be so careless in their appearance, and because they had such horrible hair they were obviously bad people.

Now, for the second paragraph, extra airplane seats cost money, motorized carts cost money, specially sized clothes cost extra money... these people aren't exactly getting a free ride.

You wanna talk about a strain on the health system? What about smoking, tanning, pregnancy, alcoholism, drug use, driving, and whoring around? The average overweight person is no more a strain on the health system than a person who drinks heavily every weekend, smokes, and sleeps around.

You forget Admin, that those don't offend Red Panda senses. She just needs to see the pretty people that are never fat.

Alot of fat people also drink, or tan, or get pregnant (eww) or other things that cause strain on health care. However their largeness by itself compounds all these problems as well as creates all kinds of new ones. If somebody is beridden and ways 500 pounds going into it the bedsores will be much worse then for a healthy person for example

Wow. You personally suffer because people are fat. Really?

Yeah, really. If the sight of overweight me offends anyone, then they are welcome to gouge out their eyes, because I am not going to stay cloistered at home to spare their precious, delicate sensibilities. Anyone who has a problem with the way I look, be it my weight, or my gothic/pagan wardrobe can kindly go fuck themselves. Or jump off a bridge, whichever gets them out of my face faster.

Yeah, I said it. I'm overweight. Nowhere near 400 pounds, or even 300. But I am overweight. And no, I don't smell any worse than a "normal" person. I'm sure if I did, my mom would have said something by now. And no, I don't need a scooter to get around, or extra airplane seats to fit into. And I don't eat three bags of goddamn potato chips or drink a whole 12 pack of coke a day either.

Since Red Panda belives that all people should be spared the agony of ever looking at whatever offends them, (in her case /fat/ people), does this mean she should be forced to live in her home and never leave?

                      Just saying....

I never said fat people should be banned. They should however not be coddled or expect special treatment because they are too big to function. If a fat person were to be told "You bought one ticket and cannot sit in this seat. You cannot fly" it would be better for everybody then saying "You bought one ticked and cannot sit in the seat, lets kick a skinny person off the plane to make you feel better."

I'm talking about your general attitude. You belive they all smell, they all stink, and it's all their fault and they all should just suffer for daring to be what they are. You can't stand the sight of them.

I can't stand the sight of ignorant hateful people.

Body odor also depends on diet, heritage and the like. As for trans fat you can thank health nuts for that just like pop out of schools.. I have seen skinny people that have made me want to gag.. I am sorry looking like a famine survivor is never pretty.

And have we as a collective society forgotten that people come in all shapes and sizes? I am not ashamed of my size because my weight doesn't limit me.. my autoimmune disorder does. I have a great BP and Cholesterol levels.. my mom who is a thin as a twig has High BP and Cholesterol levels... go figure.

I was going to say something negative to Red Panda... but upon thinking about it.. All I can say is I feel so sad for them honestly.. it breaks my heart that someone can be so narcissistic that they find people who don't fit in their "special world" as horrid.. funny seems like history repeats itself.

I think she meant those motorized carts that stores provide for free for customers who can't get around. Though the rest of your list has a point, and I think those carts are primarily intended for the elderly or disabled.

It's entirely possible to hit 400 lbs without being morbidly obese. I had a roommate in college who was 380 by virtue of being over 6 feet tall and broad enough across the shoulders he had to turn sideways to get through some doors. He'd probably have easily gone over 400 if he picked up his weight training again.

The exception doesn't make the rule. If the only people who weighed that much did so because they are built like a giant there wouldn't be an issue of fat people wanting the world haned to them on a cake
