Depends on the danger. She made a mistake with a newborn, and corrected it. That's it.
She shouldn't lose their child because of one mistake.
Should a child be expelled from school permentally, because they got one question wrong?
Should a cook be fired and never be allowed to cook again if they forgot to add salt to a meal?
Yeah, the above are nothing compared to what happen, but all people make mistakes, even new parents.
You don't automatically know how to ride a bike, you fall and get scraped alot until you learn how. It's the same with breastfeeding. Practice will make her get better. Training will allow her to know about baby not doing it right. She doesn't deserve to lose her child over this ONE incident.
Just because people are disabled red Panda, doesn't mean they are not equals.
I really hope one day you'll understand that. Maybe you'll become disabled and realized that your still human in the end.Toilet Paper has been "bath tissue" for the longest time, and it really chaps my ass - Blas

So...just because I can see gives me a greater amount of freedom? Never mind that once you figure out the routine, you can breastfeed half-asleep? (haven't done this yet, watched mom with two younger brothers)
I'd say that the blind mother has more of an advantage because it'll be easier for her to interpret her baby's cries. Having a heightened sense of hearing and all.
The nurse should've helped with the initial breastfeeding so the new mother could feel what was right. As it was, the new mother felt that something was wrong and was attempting to correct it. The judgment of the nurse was blinded by her own prejudice, apparently.

No, but the nurse's notes and recommendation helped get the ball rolling.
It'd be similar to someone over-reacting and calling CPS on a parent doing nothing wrong and having their child taken. CPS literally comes and takes the child, but someone got the ball rolling.

But he stilll will call stating that the parent is being rough on the kid, punishing him for no reason, making him watch his brother play in the pool, and right now he is being spanked! HARD! EXCESSIVY HARSH!
(Seeing as spanking is legal, as long as it isn't excessive, IE Break skin or bones).
So then CPS comes and takes both kids away.Toilet Paper has been "bath tissue" for the longest time, and it really chaps my ass - Blas

CPS won't just take the kids away unless their is an immediate danger. It would have to something along the lines of "He is spanking the child in the face with a closed fist while holding him in the pool." The nurse got the ball rolling, as she should if she felt there was a problem. She is trained and was there for the breast feeding sessions so she knows better then you do. The trouble for her is these people are a minority and when a member of the majority does something like this to a minority bleeding hearts always assume its because of bigotry.

My friend and his sister were taking away from their mother because she smoked pot. She was the kindest person I knew, always worked hard for her kids. I spent alot of nights there, as there was far more love there then my house ever was. They were forced to live with their grandma, who would punish them by beating them with a stick and making them put hands on a fire hot stove burners. They complained, but weren't taking out because they were told they are just lying to attempt to get back with mom.
As for the blind women and the nurse....
I'm VERY curious if she ever wrote that to any person that could see that did the exact same thing that blind women did. Likely zero.Toilet Paper has been "bath tissue" for the longest time, and it really chaps my ass - Blas

"Innocent until proven guilty" is given a back seat to "for the children"."The hero is the person who can act mindfully, out of conscience, when others are all conforming, or who can take the moral high road when others are standing by silently, allowing evil deeds to go unchallenged." — Philip Zimbardo

I think because of what I've seen, heard, and experienced dealing with CPS, I don't understand why they took this baby following an observation by a nurse who could have corrected the situation right then and there. And, what changed in the two months the child was away from her family that CPS thought it was OK to give her back, if the parents' blindness was such an issue? I don't remember reading that anywhere.Do not lead, for I may not follow. Do not follow, for I may not lead. Just go over there somewhere.
