  • A bit backwards...

The Confederate Flag post reminded me of this so I thought I would share. Not the kind of thing I could share at CS, and it could get heated.

About 2 years ago on my parents street there was a cross burning. That's right. Someone made a wooden cross, put it up in someone's yard, doused it with gasoline, and set it on fire.

    But there's a twist!

The family at the house wasn't black. They're white trash "The South sill rise again!" hicks who have Confederate flags in their truck and living room windows. That isn't what makes them trash, though, just a part of why I think they were targeted. My family doesn't really know them. We stay away from the trashy neighbors.

I hope they actually did something that warranted such an act. Simply flying flags and being 'trashy' doesn't really warrant that kind of vandalism...hell, terrorism.

We didn't ask, and we doubt they'd admit to it if they did do something to deserve it.

        People deserve that?

          Wow.

I'm not sure where you're from, but when I was a junior in high school, there was an incident between a redneck kid and a black girl, and the rednecks formed a gang, their symbols and gear being blaze orange (like hunting clothing) and the Confederate flag. The school banned both the flag and blaze orange hunting clothes.

Oh, by the way, I live in Wisconsin.
