  • Another inequality and double standard

this article is just another example of how the world is still a "Man's" world esp in the advertising world.

up until I read this article I did NOT know that there were female sex enhancers out there or that they were even being developed or tested.

The problem, Braun-Scherl believes, is what we'll call the Viagra Divide: If men aren't turned on in bed, they develop a drug and call it a disease. If women need a little help getting ready, we're literally banned from the airwaves.

One POSSIBLY-relevant difference: Viagra and its competitors are *not* marketed as increasing the sex drive. They're supposed to be for correcting a physical problem that prevents acting on it.

(I'm still puzzled by ads I've fast-forwarded through that appear to be for a female version of Extenze.... though not puzzled enough to WATCH the ads. Then again, the male version never did, so far as I know, specify what part of the anatomy it was supposed to enlarge, so maybe both versions are for people who want bigger ears or something.)

Viagra, Cialis and other drugs like it do not work unless the person is sexually aroused, it's a purely physical thing.

So those ads about "Longer Lasting Sex" won't work? (you know the ones I'm referring to Ny, for the rest of the folk, the Advanced Medical Institute is a group who are known for putting billboards out there that say "want longer lasting SEX" in big capital letters)

And there are female sexual enhancers out there that work to an extent, you just have to know where to find them. My work will sell sexual performance enhancers for MEN (we only carry one sexual performance enhancer), but the chemist next door to us sells the herbal aphrodisiacs for women as well.

And IIRC, Viagra IS to treat erectile dysfunction, it's not to have greater sex or anything like that I don't think....and apparaently the side effects can be a nightmare.

It was developed as heart medication, so I highly doubt that it was meant to work when someone was aroused, lest men need be aroused to have healthy hearts.

What I mean is if you take one you don't just automatically pop a boner, there has to be stimulus as well.

Ya' know what turns my wife on? When I do the dishes and take out the trash. She ESPECIALLY seems to like it when I'm washing dishes....she says it's something about having my hands occupied and she can come up behind me and rub on me and I can't do anything back (I think she has control issues).
