All of this reminds me of something George Carlin talked about back in 1988:

While cable TV isn't currently under the jurisdiction of the FCC, I remember hearing that there are folks out there who are pushing to MAKE it answerable to the FCC. Currently the only arguement stopping them that I'm aware of is that Cable is a voluntary service being subscription based. If you don't want to watch it, don't order it.

I want...to rant at him so much... Seriously, he should fuck OFF. No matter what he says in his comments page about how he won't approve any more comments about "don't watch it..." Is it REALLY that hard to not watch something you don't approve of? Really?

And I'm not suggesting anything about him personally [although it wouldn't surprise me, to be honest] but I've seriously noticed with the people I know who were abused/molested/hurt/what have you...were by those "decent, God-fearing" people he's so proud to be a part of. The "protect the children" bullshit. How about the parents watch their kids and don't let them watch Family Guy? Is that really that hard? And how about protecting kids from being abused, hit around, and murdered? Instead of worrying about a TV show that's OMG "perverted?"

Heh, he apparently just hit my hot button. I hate self-sanctimonious self-righteous pricks, though. Of which he appears to be one.

I mean, sometimes I don't like Family Guy myself 'cause I hate when Seth MacFarlane includes rape jokes. So what do I do? I might bitch about it to someone, and I just don't watch that episode. Simple.

I, personally, hate Family Guy. I think it's stupid, unfunny, and offensive. But I would never petition for it to be canceled or banned. Why? Because there are people who really, really like Family Guy, and people who really, really hate shows I love, like Futurama or Chuck. I would be heartbroken if one of my shows got canceled because some random person ranted to the FCC or the host network about it, so what gives me the right to try to take Family Guy away from all of it's fans? That would just be mean.

I love Family Guy, and I also love South Park. That's another show that stuffy idiots like this guy want off the air. Simplistic, but if you don't like it, don't watch it.

Kind of reminds me of the Simpsons episode of Marge trying to get Itchy and Scratchy taken off the air.
