No no, if they're saying that mess (calling him an 'evil, evil man', really?) is a result of smoking that shit, I don't want it. That kind of stuff messes you up for life. Don't believe me? look at the people on FOX!

      Hmmm...odd.
      I blame Sesame Street.

It has shortened attention spans by bombarding children with short little skits that change theme every few minutes, and made children think they should be entertained every second.
It has taken away simple play time, and everything has to be a forced learning experience, rather than allowing imagination and ingenuity to form naturally.

      But that's just my opinion....
      Point to Ponder:

Is it considered irony when someone on an internet forum makes a post that can be considered to look like it was written by a 3rd grade dropout, and they are poking fun of the fact that another person couldn't spell?

The phrase is, "I don't know what you're smokin', but it must be pure!" As is, I believe, often the case, Fox News is about entertainment and not actual news. And what is currently popular entertainment? What keeps the ratings up? Drama. Anger. Accusations.

Fred Rogers was wonderful. I grew up watching him in the 80s, and I feel all warm and fuzzy when I watch him now. I only wish more episodes were available online, like his operas.

Crashhelmet got all the urban legends except two:
-He was filmed (but not broadcast) trying to put a tent together and swearing up a storm
-In one episode, he went to a doctor. The doctor examined the kid's body, including genitals, on-camera, and when doing the genital exam, Rogers leaned over to look.
I've seen people who swear they saw both of these. Neither ever happened.

The far-right message is "everything has to be a long, hard slog" and yet loads of people who call the right their political side of choice (and, yes, many who don't too) were born with silver spoons in their mouths and never worked for a cent.

Either way, this claim stinks. It's utterly untrue, of that I'm certain. Mr. Rogers talked to me - and he talked to ME, just as he talked directly to every individual watching - like I was an adult, with the capability to understand complex concepts. He showed us how to play pretend, the reality behind the pretend and how it worked, and the clear distinction and line between imagination and reality; where to separate them, and how to integrate them. And he told every single viewer that they were special, unique and valuable, and that everyone is special, unique and valuable. He will be missed. The rumors will fly, but we know they're utter nonsense. Call me silly, but I wish I could have met him...and maybe I will, someday.

        R.I.P, Fred Rogers, 1928-2003

Also... Slightly OT: If you love Mr. Rogers, I highly recommend watching this. It gives a very clear picture of what kind of person he really was, all the time.

You are partially right, I think the idea for that one though was that it was for babies to early toddlers i.e. before Sesame Street....

I wonder what they'll say next....that Ghostwriter was a load of living garbage? (I watched that show recently on Youtube....)

I have seen that particular spot/segment (I think it was on a retrospective after he died not sure) BUT it contained NO cussing or swearing. he just got a bit frustrated with the tent (popup kind)

here is the video from the PBS website (2:17 in length)

I'm lost without a paddle and I'm headed up sh*t creek.

I got one foot on a banana peel and the other in the Twilight Zone.
