I chalk this one right up there with the smokers that file lawsuits against the tobacco companies for the health problems they have because they smoked.

People know the risks involved when they get involved in things like this. This guy could have easily found some way to exercise to work off and he can STILL start an exercise regimen to burn off what he lost.

Gawd I hope McD's appeals this and wins. It's completely ludicrous.

This is bullshit! There are plenty of options other than burgers. I read that he felt like he had to taste test all of the food but you only need one bite and you don't have to swallow the food you bit into. It's his own fault that he gained that weight.

I'm still wrestling with my weight and I know it is hard to take if off and maintain it. But there is no excuse and blaming someone else just makes it worst.

Not really. He was fired for refusal to wash hands after going to bathroom, and not ever catching any of his employees stealing. Him being in the back office was fairly common for alot of managers in our general area.

I worked at a factory recently that, although it had a break room with a fridge, I didn't trust my co-workers enough to leave my food there. So I bought a cooler and an ice back. Less than 20 bucks. Kept it in my car. Ate out in my car at lunch break.

          Worked fine.

Getting fat is no one's fault but your own, unless you were honestly tied down and forced to eat or get shot in the head.

              WTF?!?

He worked there for 12 years, is 32 now, so he started when he was 20. But none of that weight gain might be because of a change in activity level. Oh, no....

As much as I don't care for McDonald's, I hope they appeal and win.

I thought they stopped allowing people to sue restaurants for this type of mess!

No, you just can't sue companies because you "didn't know" that they aren't healthy.

Come on now, that's common sense! And you know that's not allowed any more.

Personally, I think he should now be forced to reimburse the store for all the "free" food he consumed. Bet that equals more than 17 grand over the course of twelve years.

Does this mean I can sue Hershey's or Godiva for what I consider to be a fairly hardcore chocolate addiction?

WTF ever happened to personal responsibility? Did someone hogtie this fool and force-feed him the shit?

Can I join you on that lawsuit?

I love chocolate but I know if I eat too much I will gain weight. If you eat more calories then you expend then you will gain weight. How can people not know this?
