  • Sandi Day wants her job back.

Naturally people are not wanting that. I don't blame them.

Earlier this year Sandi Day, a bus driver for Portland's TRIMET bus system made an illegal turn into a crosswalk where people were already walking. They didn't jay walk or anything of the sort. They had right of way and were minding their own business.

She killed two of them. Injured three others.

No charges were put against her.

    Trimet fired her.

Now she's trying to get job back.

And finally, her union, clamoring to not only get her job back, but backpay and benifts for the harshness and unfairness of firing her.

LOL Wow...She's already proven she doesn't know how to drive properly. I can't think of a reason why she should be allowed to drive a bus again.

I bet the families of the people she killed and injured would like to serve her some 'backpay' as well. People like this make me sick.

Just another fine example of why I hate unions.

This is another one of those lovely times where people don't deserve a second chance.

from reading the PDF of the case(page 4 specifically)-this was her first ever accident-the pedestrians were in a blind spot created by a pillar and her mirrors, and wearing dark clothing at night. Yes she made an illegal turn. Would you say any other driver that is involved in a fatal crash should never drive again?

why? People aren't allowed to have one single solitary car crash ever? there are bus drivers in my city that have hit multiple cars, still driving. But because they were lucky no one died.

I know a couple cab drivers that have hit and killed pedestrians that stepped out in front of them-guess what-still driving-no charges.

I didn't say she should never drive again, I just don't think she should drive professionally again.

An over tired and hung over trucker jack-knifed and over-turned his semi truck to take up the entire road on a foggy morning, which caused a bus to smash right into it, killing the driver, a teacher and his wife, their grandchild, and a teaching assistant.

He was acquitted because the jury found the dead bus driver to be at fault for not wearing his glasses and upon inspection, the brakes on the bus weren't so great.

I don't even care that he was found not guilty, I never want to see that schmuck driving truck EVER again. He took his job so lightly that he drank on his (short) off time, was so hungover and over-tired that he lied on his logbooks about his sleep time, and he caused a huge accident that killed people. NOT professional driving material.

He better not show his face in Wisconsin ever again.
