  • Honestly your Honor, it wasn't me.

This could go in Religion, Politics or Social Woes.

A muslim mother of 7 accused a police officer of racism and abuse in a false statement (after she was pulled over for a random breath test and asked to remove her burkha so he could identify her), but when video evidence proved she was lying, she claimed that it wasn't her behind the burkha making the false statement.

    Link.

She's been sentenced for 6 months, but has been released on bail pending appeal.

Her lawyer claims that since the police officer taking her stat dec didn't identify her, she shouldn't have been charged.

Now, a few months ago here in Australia, there was a big media shitstorm about how a muslim woman was forced to remove her burkha to testify in court. Somehow, I don't think that this will help.

Here we go. You can't be racist against muslims because "muslim" is not a race!
