To hell with suspending her, she needs to be fired What. The. Fuck.

I'm glad she's been charged with child endangerment. There is no excuse at all for what she did. Absolutley none

    Your wish:

    Bus Driver Arrested and Fired

The child was left on the bus on Friday, the mother held off charges until after contacting an attorney. The driver was arrested on the 7th, and fired on the 8th at the regular meeting (likely to have happened regardless of the arrest).

I can understand how this situation got started, but I don't see any reason that every bus isn't "walked" to check for lost items and leftover kids before being parked. It doesn't appear that this is a procedure with the district, currently.

I'm also curious as to why the Head Start program, which was expecting 2 children from that household, accepted a 5-year-old's assurance that the 3-year-old would not be there without getting some form of confirmation from a responsible adult. Last I noted, 5-year-olds weren't exactly the pinnacle of accuracy.

Based on the fact that the kid was strapped into a car seat several rows back, I suspect this is not a standard school bus, and he was probably asleep when the driver parked it.

Regardless, I still stand by my comment that every bus ever should be checked prior to being parked for anything amiss. The bus driver would be the most logical choice.

Yup, I agree. Buses should be gone through. Every school bus and Greyhound bus I've been on, the driver does a walk-through. I'm glad the driver was fired and charged. That poor little kid.
