Yeah, I know, another thread like this. I can't help it right now, though; this has been eating at me since Friday night. But seriously, if a troupe advertises itself as 'human body suspension' and has pictures of themselves in mid-performance complete with meathooks and dripping blood from said meathooks, and someone complains about it even though it's been advertised for one, two weeks beforehand, does it still count as a legitimate complaint?

(If you don't want to click the link, it's to a CS.com thread I typed up related to the show that got me that complaint from some of the band members' parents that night.)

I think it's legitimate not to like it (I don't like it at all, eww), but it always pays to research what's going to happen in any show you attend. If I don't like something, I just don't attend.

Stupid/TMI question time: How does that suspension even work? Dead people? or am I over thinking this?

Despite signs and warnings from box office staff, we usually have 1-2 walkouts per season. The blue-haired subscribers don't understand that we can't do Neil Simon *all the time* and anytime we do anything edgy, a few will get all offended and march out. Or a parent will bring a young child and march out. *sigh* People will not do their research.

Of course, even if I didn't know what it was, the term 'human suspension' would probably give me a pretty good idea. Unless they were thinking 'trapeze artists'?

A little research goes a long way, mom and dad.

Wikipedia article on human suspension. (Note: one mild image and descriptions not for the faint of heart)

            Not my thing, really.

not my thing either I can't stand suspensions but I still think that if you are going to something like that you shouldn't go blindly and then act all surprised and shocked later.
