  • Man left in CT scanner sues

    http://www.cbc.ca/canada/british-col...socialcomments

This man clearly has no idea how CT scans work, and he's a nurse, not that they actually know much about the x-ray department. My boyfriend is an X-ray tech, and his comment on this article was:

"If the scan stopped then there was no radiation. It is so typical of a nurse to think they understand how x-ray and ct work when they are complete clueless. I am a x-ray technologist and I also perform CT scans. Nursing staff have no education is radiation but some sure pretend they do...at times they think they know more then the technologist

This patient was probable undergoing a contrast study where he was given an injection of contrast or x-ray dye, scanned once to see the initial reaction in the body then a delayed scan to see the reaction a bit later to see x-ray dye flow 25 minutes later. This is common for liver or pancreas scans...or even kidney.

    What a joker!"

Agree. The fellow may or may not be an idiot, but he has no understanding of the dangers of radiation.
