Do you mean today's tsunami? Caused by the 8.9 earthquake off the coast of Honshu, yesterday.
Hundreds were killed in Sendai, with more hurt outside the city, and over 500 still missing.
Other Pacific Coast locales are fortunate that this temblor wasn't of the right type to push a tsumani very far; but this is a massive emergency for Japan.
