I'm just being honest, goddess. I've gotten really self conscious since I put on some weight and my adult face is quite different than when I was younger.

I don't see how red hair is taboo. What is this, the Stone Age again where everyone with red hair is a witch? Let me guess, freckles are ugly, too? Oh, snap. I'm half ginger, fair skinned ash blonde with freckles all over my face and body (although the ones on my face have started going away as I've gotten older, and I wish they'd stay). My shoulders and arms and legs are freckled all the way up and down, I think that's freaking adorable.

I don't look good with red hair, but women with natural red hair and freckles are god damned aborable.

My boyfriend has brown hair, but red facial hair. I think it's funny looking, but it's not ugly just because it's red, it's just an odd contrast. My little brother has bleach blonde side-burns, but red hair along his chin. Again, not ugly, just funny looking.

And they both have freckles and I think that's just adorable. People with freckles are blessed.

I don't understand all the hate on the gingers either.

Ron Howard-level Ginger is a bit much, but Eric Stoltz-level Ginger is kind of cute.

I have seen women with blazing red hair and so covered with freckles they literally looked like they'd been sprinkled with cinnamon and they were so beautiful it was hard not to stare.

The narrow field of beauty listed on that site is sad. And dumb.

Somehow, gingers just became a collective scapegoat of the trendy crowd, I guess.

I can't pull up the list right now since I'm at work and that site is blocked on our computers, but if I remember correctly, they didn't have any height specifications on their "banned" list. That's kind of strange. Not that any certain height is bad, but since they're so persnickety about people having nerdy glasses or small jaws or certain nose types, I would think they would have some height specifications.

Give it time. They seem to ban things as they come up and collectively allow or disallow via the blog; that's why it's in such disarray.

                  That list is pretty humorous.

Considering I refuse to give in to the nasty trend of jeggings and skinny jeans, I'm out-dated.

And, I HAVE ACNE! OH NOES! A whopping three zits on my face right now!

As far as pasty skin.....I don't think it's very attractive to be ghastly white, but at the same time, it's not very attractive to have skin resembling a bronze Olympic medal. I used to tan so often that my skin turned bronze instead of tan. Yuck.

Who wants to look like a retard from Jersey Shore anyway?

My skin is very pale, and personally I think that pale skin is far more attractive than either bright orange or leathery brown skin.

I'm a very pale "plus-sized beauty" with tons of freckles and 2 (barely) visible scars on my face. Plus my eyebrows are uneven (due to the previously mentioned scars screwing up how they grow in). So, I guess I'm off the list! Also, I've parted my hair in the middle for so long that it won't part any other way. I do have to say that I've never been attracted to redheads/gingers. Just a personal preference.

According to those rules this type of person is what they're after. <shudder>

For the track record, that monstrosity is what is called in Japan a Ganguro girl. They are so obsessed with western pop culture that they go literally head to toe in it from bleaching their hair to getting full deep (and I do mean deep! That picture is common) body tans, even going as far as to have cosmetic surgery on their eyelids to have a double eyelid that is common in western locations as opposed to the single one seen more common in Japan. It is not uncommon for them to spend the equivalent of several thousand dollars a month to maintain that image. They get the money by becoming a girlfriend of a wealthy man and have them pay for it all. When the money dries up, they bail and find another guy to latch onto.

Um, I never said it was ugly to be fair or pale, did I forget to mention before that I'm naturally very fair (I'm sure I did mention that)? As in, sometimes even the lightest shade at the costmetics counter isn't light enough or me or has too much yellow pigment in it?

My personal opinion is I don't think it's attractive to be ghastly white, as in, to never go outside, even for a walk, to get a tad of sun. It won't kill you or make your skin leathery just to get a little color from a beautiful day outside, and as long as you wear proper sunscreen and sunglasses, I promise, you won't set on fire. If I can walk outside in the sun and not combust into flames, anyone can.

I am not one of those fucktards from the Darwin site. I don't like leather faces or bronze-skinned tan addicts or people with those awful orange fake tans from those so-called "natural" and "even" spray tan machines/booths.

Although you have to admit, it's funny to see people's un-even tan lines from the wrinkles and folds in their skin.

I am a ghastly pale creature ( surprise surprise ). But I burn super easy too. So not much incentive to get out in the sun in any regard. I very warm blooded and overheat rapidly. But can put the garbage out in 3 feet of snow with sandals and shorts on. So it evens out.

I, however, <3 gingers and freckles are adorable.

Lies! When I was a kid, we went to Disney World. Which of course meant Florida. I spent the later half of that vacation sleeping upright in a chair because I could no longer lay down due to the sheer full body burnination that occured when I wandered away from the air conditioned shade of the hotel. >.>

For the record, I wasn't replying to your post at all; just to the Darwin's site's assertion that "pasty skin" is ugly. :/

I don't tan in the sun; I put on factor thirty sunblock whenever I go out in it. I'm very fair anyway, but I take measures to stay pale. One thing that to me looks very nasty is when people either overdo the fake tan and go bright orange or mess it up and go streaky. X_x If you must add colour to your skin, at least do it properly.
