Sometimes I wonder. But even as someone who loves money, meeting the Yankees is a one in a lifetime chance whereas at some point in my life, I'll have a million bucks anyway.

...What sport are you talking about? I've never seen anyone play baseball in underwear. And when you can either throw a 90 mph fastball or hit one, get back to me on this. Baseball requires an insane amount of talent.

If he'd have offered to buy something from me I'd already offered as a gift... I'd have been offended, personally. Not a huge amount, but it still cheapens the gesture. It's similar to someone showing up with a gift, and you asking them how much you owe them for it.

For a fan who would give the ball back, I'd be willing to bet he'd choose what he was given over the money, given a choice between the two.

I'm a life-long baseball fan, but I've never forgotten that these are privileged millionaires I'm watching on the field.

There I fixed that for ya. Not only do I find baseball boring, it also may be the most corrupt sport in the world...although American football is right up there.

I still maintain I'd give it back, just to shake Jeter's hand. But then again, I've gone from a baseball fan to more of a soccer fan...and you do not get to keep balls there (at least not in MLS) I do have a hat signed by Matt Reis, and I'd never sell that.


Though I do like the idea of donating to a museum...that way, many fans can enjoy it.

Yeah it's not as corrupt as some sport where some French judge with a burr up her ass knocks down an American skater so that some other skater can win the gold. Or hey, maybe it's more corrupt than a sport where they don't ask questions like, "Well, we are going to playing these games in 100 degree heat, do you have stadiums that are already air conditioned?" Instead they ask questions like, "Well....how quickly can you deposit that money in my numbered account?" Or the same sport where some games come down to very questionable red or yellow cards.....

I just get tired of America Bashing when FIFA wrote the book on sports corruption. And corrupt is the last word that comes to mind when I think of baseball....
