Could it possibly have been that they only allowed guests at the resorts? Because unless you went in with a sign around your neck saying "I'm Straight!" how exactly could they discriminate against your sexual preference?
I am a sexy shoeless god of war!
Minus the sexy and I'm wearing shoes.

Because I was with my wife and when she went there with a gay friend they let him in there (and he wasn't staying there).

Like Idaho! Which can! And does. Frequently. You can still lose your job or be denied housing in Idaho just for being LGBT. And they can tell you that to your face.

Yeah, we have/need anti-discrimination laws for a reason.

And ftr, our gay bar here accepts anyone as long as you don't act like a douche.

People offering accomidations (and other necesities) should not be allowed to discriminate- I'll agree with that.

But - discrimination, bigotry, prejudice is all around us (out in the open and hidden which is the sad truth). Personally, I'd rather do business with someone who wants to do business with me as oposed to someone who is forced to do business with me. I don't think forced labor has ever been very productive so chances are the person forced to do business with me won't do as good of a job as someone who wants to do business with me.

There are also times where someone, regardless of what is done, will be discriminated against. What if one person's beliefs contradicts one of their client's wishes?

You can also know by other people telling you. I don't think anyone here has gone to the bridal shop but we all know they discriminate against homosexal people who want to get married.
By deciding to not go there, you have a choice of either going somewhere that you know will accept you and being quiet, or being noisy about it. The first ends up with the shop owner getting exactly what they want, the second doesn't.

Sure, by forcing them then you're likely to get a bad job, but I can't see doing nothing as acceptable. What happened here as a response was a good response, I reckon.

I'd like to throw another log onto the fire here. It seems that Anne Rice has caught wind of the incident and has made her opinions known on her FB page.

Things like this are why I rightly call bullshit on the phrase, "No such thing as bad publicity".

Again, this isn't so much about calling who was right or wrong into question. It's about shooting yourself in the foot so badly that your great-grand kids feel the limp.
