There's a comment in the article itself talking about how exchange students arrive, get into crippling debt, and then become desperate to deal with it.

I see a lot of moral outrage, and not a lot of interest in actually helping the woman get to a place where she doesn't see selling herself for 4 days for $7500+ as the most attractive option.

Also, there's an awful lot of assumption about the escort service about how they're victimizing the woman; I rather expect she approached them, not the other way around.

Honestly, if she truly wants to do that and it's not just an act of desperation, I just don't see the problem as long as it's not illegal.

Not sure about there, but we had one over here about a decade back who was doing it partly as a protest against student fees, partly to pay said student fees, but also because as a lesbian she didn't really need it.
