Campaign Managers cat found dead, word "liberal" written across it. (WARNING: linked article shows picture of dead cat).

I don't care which side of the spectrum you're on, this is the act of a coward and a sadist. Especially since this poor cat had nothing to do with the politics involved. Not that it would be any better to do this to him, but it takes a special kind of evil to do this.

This is one of those things that while not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, really makes you wonder how low people will go.

In what twisted world did that make sense to you? What you think that way the child will grow up to be a conservative and be the one vote on a vital issue that might swing it your way?

I mean seriously it's not even threatening so much as it is a sad attempt to shock people and totally missing the point of who the campaign manager is.

ETA: *EXCEPT*... it would be a clever trick, particularly if you didn't like the cat anyway and had been looking for an excuse to get rid of it, to do this yourself to make the opponent look bad.

the Dude is a combat veteran, so they weren't about to try to bash his skull in. so instead, they pick on a defenseless animal.....cowards. I realize that this type of thing is probably not new but still....have we really degenerated to this? And is this why there is no such as compromise in politics?

This is just disgusting. I'm not too surprised about it though, when I was in college one fo the older gentlemen in my class ran for congress in the early 90's and he had stories of similar things happening to him.

They never went as far as to kill his cat, but he would find all four of his tires slashed or one time someone spray painted crap all over the front of his house, and of course there were the threatening letters and people shouting awful things to his kids on their way to school. The worst part about it is he was some no-name guy running against Ed Marky, who is really popular among his constituents, so it's not like the Marky people had anything to worry about. He polled through the whole race and eventually won with almost two thirds of the vote.

I don't even know what you prove by doing something like that. I guess they want to prove just how much of a sick bastard they are.
