  • PETA Keeps on Killing

New reports have come to light that PETA kills upwards of 95% of all animals it takes in at it's Virgina headquarters, with 90% of those within the first 24 hours.

    Article at Jezebel

Their claims are that most of the animals that "fall into their care" are "somehow unadoptable." How anyone could possibly determine this after less than 24 hours for most of their charges is amazing verging on the miraculous. Never mind the fact that PETA operatives regularly defraud shelters and individuals out of pets available for adoption, meaning that a large percentage of those animals never actually "fall into their care" at all.

    Hyperbolic article at TargetOfOpportunity.com

They apparently spend more on donations to domestic terror groups than on care for animals.

My bet would be that they're only after the cute and adorable little kittens and puppies to show off saying "how could anyone "not adopt" these?"

Statements in the first link seem to suggest that they claim it's better to kill a dog outright than to keep it off the furniture.

If that's anything like a fair assessment, I can only hope those running PETA never have kids. Or elderly relatives needing a bit of looking after, for that matter.

Oh, no worries there; she's had herself fixed.

been doing it for years-in 2005 two peta employees were charged with 31 counts of animal cruelty, they killed them within minutes, had a euthanasia kit in the van.

          overview

two PETA employees were charged with 31 felony counts of animal cruelty each, after authorities found them dumping the dead bodies of 18 animals they had just picked up from a North Carolina animal shelter into a Dumpster. According to the Associated Press, 13 more dead animals were found in a van registered to PETA.

"I am opposed to having children. Having a purebred human baby is like having a purebred dog; it's nothing but vanity, human vanity."

From the Better Dead than Fed article

Uhm wait what? Uhm is there an alternative I don't know about? Can we successfully interbreed with other species now? Cuz near as I can tell having only human babies isn't so much vanity as it is biologically impossible at this point for a human mother to conceive and birth a non human baby.

I am willing to bet that if you investigated the woman being quoted you would find signs that she engages in bestiality.

I thought this phrase was about people wanting a "Blue eyes blond baby",as in people who want to have a specific appearance for their baby. Also relating to adoption.

                Why?
Because she doesn't want children because they would be human. She wasn't saying pure bred in a "because your not allowed to marry interracially" She was saying the world would be better off without humans and that she is fixed to prevent anymore human babies being born.

When she said pure breed humans she wasn't talking about in the species she was talking in relation to other species. At least that's what "Pure breed humans" in this context would mean to me since no one was discussing racism.

That's why I had thoughts that she may engage in bestiality because if someone is conceptualizing that humans are bad and we wouldn't be bad if we weren't purely human well then that leads me to thinking she is encouraging actions that would bring about mutts.

Your right I could be wrong she could be convinced that there are no interracial couples out there and that interracial coupling is something that everyone steers from but it seems odd then that she would bring that up in a discussion or mention it as the reason for why she won't have children in an article on why she thinks non humans are better.

Honestly, PETA's been batshit insane for years; it's only recently that the insanity has gone 'above and beyond'

Hell, I have a permanent hate-on for them due to their assertion of 'If someone discovered a Cure for Cancer or AIDS, and it involved even the slightest hint of animal testing, we would do everything in our power to prevent that cure from existing'

Also, their CEO is diabetic, and when asked about her using horse-engineered insulin, she basically said 'I'm allowed because I'm fighting for the rights of animals' Sanctimonious, Hypocritical, BITCH.

I wonder how horrified they'd be to find out the ONLY way(currently) to test for botulism is using mice, and the usual products tested for c. bot. these days are fruits and veggies, as it's now known that botulism spores occur naturally in the soil, and since we keep most slaughterhouses free of tons of dirt, it's a much lesser issue. That and the vitamin suppliments many of them take, while they say "x company does not test on animals", which is true, they simply pay another company to do the animal testing....and there is ZERO validation, or restriction for the label claim, a company can put "not tested on animals" on their product while simultaneously slaughtering bunnies by the billions.

                      Wait, wait, wait...

So, if the cure for AIDS can only be found with animal testing, the CEO's against it, but if it keeps her ass above the ground, then it's a-ok, 'cause she's 'fighting the good fight?'

yup this is why if I donate to animal groups it's local shelters(both kill and non-kill I'm not delusional enough to think a shelter can be run effectively without euthanizing some animals) and animal WELFARE groups, not animal RIGHTS groups, many people think they are one in the same, they are not.

I am very much against PETA anyway but all this just cements it (I was against it before because they make no sense with their advertising and my husband engages in animal research...you know, to save PEOPLE who were dealt a shitty genetic hand). I had no idea the extent of their hypocrisy, it's sickening!

If you truly care about animals, you should support local shelters. I love the ASPCA, BCPCA, and RSPCA (and all the other countries versions).

The RSPCA does do some really good stuff down here. One of the more exciting events (dunno if its held interstate) is known as the Million Paws Walk, which raises money for them. Basically it's a really long dog walk.

The other animal shelter down here is the Animal Welfare League.

If I ever end up moving in with my boyfriend, we're probably going to adopt a pet, rather than go to a pet store. I'm holding out more for a cat than a dog.

On top of that, my friend adopted a kitten from a rescue centre up in Queensland. It's now become a huge boofer named Ichigo
