  • Necrophilia

Alright, kiddies. I read a few articles lately about necrophilia (This one, this one, and this one) and I was wondering... Why do people find it so reprehensible? I'm not saying I don't, or that I do.

With a human body, part of the outcry I see against it is because it hurts the living relatives of the dead person. But with an animal corpse, like the third story linked, that pain is no longer there.

A body, once the organism is dead, can no longer feel anything. It doesn't know that it's being used to have sex with.

I'm just putting these points up for debate. So debate away.

I won't have that problem. My plan is to be cremated with no funeral service and have my ashes dumped in Lake Erie. I sure as hell am NOT gonna allow ANY of my ex's or enemies the opportunity to spit on my grave.

I'd like my burial to be similar to Hunter S. Thompson; cremate me and shoot my ashes in the sky with fireworks. That way nobody could mess with my grave at all.

I'm very concerned about the psychological well-being of a person who wants to have sex with a corpse, be it animal or human. um...ew.

If anything, I would have serious health concerns...I mean...the person is...uh...putting some parts into decaying tissue... O_o

I think with human corpses the hurt is more to the remaining family members and friends...if nothing else it SHOULD be considered desecrating a corpse. The dead person can't feel anything, but I can see why the family would be pissed and want action taken...

Uh yea...those people should at the least be given psychiatric treatment.

I agree with DesignFox. There IS something wrong with having sex with a corpse. I mean, should it really have to get to the point where we have to put in our will we don't want our bodies to be used as a sex doll? Having sex with a corpse and then saying nobody is really being hurt is just an excuse for saying that the person who died didn't mean a thing. You would be assuming that person wanted their body to be used like that and I'm sure most people wouldn't want their body used. You would be going against that person's will whether they are alive or dead.

I don't give a damn about what happens to my remains, any more than I care about what happens to my trash when I put it on the curb. (With the caveat that I prefer that things be disposed of in an environmentally safe way.)

But I fully recognize that many (if not most) people do not feel the same way I do about human cadavers. I've told my husband that if something should happen to me, it's up to him to decide what he'd like to do. If he feels that shooting my ashes through a cannon is vital to his grieving process, then go for it.

I consider something morally wrong if it causes mental, emotional, or physical pain. If there's a chance that someone loved that cadaver, whether it be human or otherwise, than necrophilia is wrong.

Otherwise, I don't suppose it is. Although I'd urge anyone into necrophilia to get therapy. You can't convince me that there isn't something seriously fucked in the head with someone who's into that.

You have to have permission to use a cadaver to save someone's life through organ donation, it makes sense that you need permission to use a cadaver as a masturbatory aid.

If it is 'wrong' and, as Boozy alludes to, causes mental, emotional or physical pain to be morally wrong, then perhaps it causes that pain to the person doing the act (even though it may not be obvious to us... that's the nature of the mental or emotional side of things).

I'm of the opinion that if there are things that are actually 'wrong' vs 'right', then this is something that would be morally wrong. But I would have to ask where such value judgements come from....(am I indoctrinated? Have I had such value judgements put in me from society? etc etc...)
ZOE: Preacher, don't the Bible got some pretty specific things to say about killing?

SHEPHERD BOOK: Quite specific. It is, however, Somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps.

I agree with you and besides the fact that the decaying tissue is a health concern, there's also all the embalming fluids in the corpse and the things the funeral home does to the orifices to keep the corpse from leaking.

aaand just to throw a wrench in the works.....

if someone has a leather fetish does that count? After all it is dead animal.....

What if I really loved that piece of plastic someone made into a sex toy(if it's recycled plastic it could've been my old barbie)

My mom has signed her body over to BodyWorlds, and we're fine with that, cemeteries take up prime usable space and most of the funeral industry is corrupt(stealing bones for transplants), overcharging for caskets, requiring cement vaults, pumping bodies full of toxic chemicals(where do those chemicals go when your body eventually rots?)

I'm actually kinda fond of these myself, at least you get some use out of your money while still alive.

Considering you can donate your body once you die, to science or organ harvesting, would it be possible to "donate" your body to necrophiliacs?

If sex with a 15 year old is 'rape' because he/she can't legally give concent, then sex with a dead person should qualify as rape as well, because they most certainly can't give concent.

My husband and I waited until we were married to have sex. I think it would be a violation of both of us, and our marriage for someone to have sex with me after I died. This body is for my husband only.

Health concerns aside, why would you want to have sex with someone that cannot respond? I'm sorry if this seems a little graphic, but for me, half the fun of making love is seeing the other person react to what you're doing. I mean, yeah, sure "dead girls can't say no" but...they can't say "YES!" or "a little to the left" either...

There are certain fetishes, like necrophilia, that are usually linked to a case of sexual mental issues. They're not thinking the same way other people do about sex. Hell, no one thinks the same way as other people about sex. We all have our individual kinks and turn-ons, and theirs happens to be dead bodies, for whatever reasons they have. There are also people who derive sexual pleasure from the thought of being eaten, either alive or dead. It's called vorephilia, but it's rarely practiced outside of the fantasy world. And then I'm sure you've heard of scat play, sexual activities involving feces. My point is, I guess, that everyone is turned on by different things. There just happen to be some fetishes that are far more closely linked to mental health issues than others. Plus, societal taboo has a lot to do with the "ewwww, squicky" factor of most people's reactions.
