True, the first article is from The Huffington Post. (Some people don't like the Huffington Post). However, please read both articles. The New York Times article gives more information.

I'm on Birth Control Pills not because I don't want to get pregnant (I do, but I believe I'm too heavy to have a safe & healthy pregnancy at the moment). However, I take the BC pills 'cos my period is so erratic, I need the hormones to regulate me so bad things don't happen to my insides.

Much the same kind of reason for me; I have irregular and extremely heavy periods, coupled with excruciatingly bad period pain. I have PMS that turns me into the bastard child of Godzilla every month. I've been on the pill since I was 11 years old, and believe me, I was not having sex then. Those people are twats if they really believe what they're saying.

I think that rule is a bit too broad. Preventing the implantation of a fertilized egg is not the same as an induced abortion. Especially considering fertilization does not mean the egg will implant on it's own anyway.

I also don't see the issue with a hospital needing to know what a nurse objects to(and potentially discriminating in hiring practices) unless it directly affects their patients-so that should be a non-issue.

For example if a nurse doesn't believe in chemotherapy they probably shouldn't apply to work in oncology, and if they apply to work in psychiatry the hospital shouldn't be asking if they believe in chemotherapy as it does not relate to the job their applying for-

I come from generations of female problems. I had a period that would NOT go away.

I do not want a period and I don't think I need to put up with it. My insurance only covers the Depo shot 100%. And it works for me. It works WELL.

Not to mention I hate children and don't want any.

And let me tell you what......I am NOT aborting ANYTHING by preventing ovulation, preventing sperm from entering my cervix, and having my uterine lining be undesirable for a fetus.

You have to BE pregnant to have an abortion. There has to be a fetus growing in order to get rid of it. Emergency contraception also is not abortion, as it's just to be safe and prevent pregnancy from happening. IT HASN'T HAPPENED YET.

I couldn't agree more! I just don't see where they think keeping an egg from being released from the ovaries is tantamount to an abortion. I may be pro-choice and believe that life begins at conception, but how can a life begin when the egg hasn't been released, let alone fertilized and implanted.
