  • FCC : AT&T Collected Millions in Fraudulent Reimbursements

According to a complaint filed by the FCC, AT&T knowingly and willfully used a non-compliant system in order to retain high call volume by out-of-the-US and fraudulent callers in order to ensure that they continued to receive large reimbursement checks from the government for so doing.

Honestly, considering the bullshit AT&T has pulled with the company I work for and a few other friends (one of whom successfully sued them for a tidy sum a while back), this doesn't even remotely surprise me, nor do I have any doubt that the report is probably entirely true.

Having worked at one of their call centers, I hope they get slammed. What Id really like to see though, would to see those responsible be held accountable and serve some jail time and even have to pay the money back themselves.

I don't work for AT&T but I have to work with them as a CLEC. I. Hate. Them. They are nothing but a pain in the ass.

Given the amount of bullshit that IP operators deal with, the fact that these money grubbing asshats are being burned by their own actions is giving me a schadenfreudegasm like you wouldn't believe

dropped AT&T for their overcharging compared to other company's rates in our area. i know someone who worked in an AT&T call center and was laid off due to claims of "downsizing" well after this the downsizing will be true. they used to be a good company. wtf
Repeat after me, "I'm over it"
