  • What would you do?

    http://chanarchive.org/4chan/v/5730/...gaems#59828359

This is an obvious troll attempt on the OP's part, but just for the hell of it, let's treat this as a what-if.
Considering that suggesting acts of violence is a no-no here and on CS, let's just say I'd personally have a hard time holding in my rage.
    How would you react?

TL;DR: Lady claims to be a "hardcore gamer", and is alarmed her live-in boyfriend has an all retro collection, so she takes his entire collection to a pawn shop for $500, buys him a PS3, and is awaiting his reaction when he gets home.

If this were real? She'd be finding a new place to live. I don't care what it is, if it's mine, you'd better talk to me before you sell/pawn/give/throw it away.
Do not lead, for I may not follow. Do not follow, for I may not lead. Just go over there somewhere.

Probably could get it back from the pawn shop if they hadn't sold it since technically, it's received stolen property.

Definitely dump her and give her the boot.

If this were real and I were the boyfriend, I would be filing theft charges, plain and simple.

Oh, yeah, and she'd be kicked to the curb so fast, she'd think she teleported been Portaled.

Oh the angrish I would spew were this real. Were I in his shoes, marched to the pawn shop to get my shit back, and if any of it could be salvaged, pawning some of her shit to get replacements.

And then kicked, no, portaled, no, SHORYUKENED to the curb so fast she's bounce.

Yeah, I'd have a pretty hard time containing myself. I'd definately give her the boot and any further attempts to contact me to make ammends would result in a restaining order.

What she did was stealing. Although I don't know if any charges could be filed since there's no proof. It was also pretty stupid. She's not benefiting from it and chances are, he's going to be pissed off at her actions. She sounds like a control freak.

Gods I would kick her ass to the door of the pawn shop and make her sit there till they re-opened. How much if a fail gamer is she? Some of the old stuff on a older tv is way better then some of the newer stuff on a plasma. And that's not even counting the retro memory feel.

If she isn't a troll...she's going to be fed to one.

Ok..assuming not a troll...who the FRATCH does she think she is to decide what games her soon to be ex-SO plays? It really irks me when people date/marry somebody and then wants to change them. If you don't like them..find somebody you do like. Simple. Don't try to change somebody.

Kick her to the curb, get the stuff back, and find somebody who isn't a raging nutjob.

I remember seeing a woman like this on a talk show- her boyfriend had a huge baseball card collection, and this lady wanted more room for her stuff, as she was moving in. So she sold the works while the boyfriend was out for the weekend. The audience applauded, but had the genders been reversed, with the boyfriend selling the lady's bloated purse or shoe collection for pennies on the dollar, that same audience would have been calling for his crucifixion.

Theft charges and kick her out, on both of the cases.

Assuming she's not a troll, then she can't really call herself a hardcore gamer either. The Retro games had a bad habit of being modeled off of arcade machines which meant they were just plain BRUTAL at times. She's just a CoD swilling wannabe.

That would be my thinking as well, if this story is in fact believable.

This is what gets me also. Hardcore gamers tend to be nostalgic about some of the older games. I'd more see them setting a shrine up about them then thinking "Only the new games are worth anything." I am not hardcore about anything, so I could be wrong..but seems more a "I don't like his stuff, my stuff is better..lets get rid of his and get him some of the games I like but don't have..so if he doesn't play them I can." *shrugs*
