He was getting money before his statement, and would have gotten money even if he hadn't made it, particularly since he's been doing fund-raisers, which are all about getting money.

And anybody who thought he wasn't at least nominally pro-LGBT after having a look at his pro-LGBT fund-raiser settings has their head buried so far in the sand it's surprising you can still see their feet.

so why elect him for this stance? after all he can't change things.
Nobody said he made no promises. You said that he made a specific promise, and "we all" have said that he didn't make that promise at all.

I can't speak for the others, but I, personally, have provided multiple links to promises he did make as well as the results of his work on those promises, both positive and negative. As far as your responses show, you've pretty much ignored every piece of evidence against your argument.

He doesn't "make no promises." He's made a lot of promises. Of the more than 500 promises he's made, he's been successful in keeping 181 of them (36%). For the ones updated this month, he kept 2 and broke 1.

Not a single one of your claims regarding Obama and his work related to LGBT issues has proven to have any support whatsoever. You keep repeating a lot of the same things over and over and have yet to provide a single useful citation.

This thread has become somewhat surreal if not downright awe inspiring.

You seem to be in a completely different world, or having some sort of different conversation than the one you're in. Have you read Andy's links?

We said he did not promise what you claimed he promised. Not that he didn't promise anything at all.

I doubt many people are going to be swayed by this. I think it was a calculated political move to bring it up now, yes. But I don't think it was a "If I say I love gays, I'll get elected" move. I think it was more a "I can't keep giving non-answers" move.

I think he believed in gay marriage for quite some time. I think that from the point that he announced that he would stop defending the DOMA, I had no doubt that he was for gay marriage.
