I know this is NOT a scientific study by any stretch of the imagination. BUT esp here in the US with all of the date rape "claims" and "she was asking for it" type stuff, I just can not see how this holds water

The bias of the author shows in the first paragraph. I'd wager that Ms. Wong can't separate sex and making love as two different things.

It seems like those that contributed to the article don't have much experience drinking. There are plenty of people who, when they drink, become more horny. Inhibitions drop and the wanting of sex amplifies. I have friends like this. Sober, not much going on. A few beers later, they are ready to go and are asking for it (literally).

I know some people who like both sex drunk and sober. But they do it with their partners (and some cases friends), not total strangers.

A lot of them women I know have no confidence in themselves in bed. If they're not having self-confidence issues about their naked body, they're having them with how they perform or what they should do. Then there are the ones that have both. For some women, getting drunk alleviates those worries. It becomes their crutch.

Although I'm not really surprised about the male reaction.

Many men I suspect fear being charged with date-rape, or rather... sex with a woman who changes her mind afterwards and claims he "took advantage of her" with alcohol. Even if they were both drinking. Sober sex however helps take that factor out.


Although personally... drunk-off-my-ass sex is unfulfilling, even if completely consenting. A little alcohol lowers inhibitions. Too much can start numbing body parts

Because making love is just so much fun when the room's spinning.

It's pretty obvious that the author thinks less of people for rather having alcohol in their system if they are going to get it on.
