It's not just for undeveloped nations any more.
Two lawsuits on behalf of a total of 165 individuals have been filed against UNICOR (the prison industry corporation) for knowing placing both guards and inmates at risk in the Marianna Federal Correctional Institution's e-waste recycling program.

A spokesman for The Federal Bureau of Prisons has allegedly claimed that they cannot be sued by workers at the facility because they are covered by workers comp, but one of the attorney's for the plaintiff's rightly asserts that not only does that not cover inmates or the workers affected family members, but would also not apply to the workers themselves because negligence trumps workers comp coverage.
