late 90's I found one of our larger book chains (small branch where I lived) stocking Meg and Mog books and although they were a fiver a go, I snapped up a few books from the display and scoured the shelves for more.
Don't recall anyone at the time giving me the evil eye, but this store would be hard to enforce that stupid policy as the kids section was just a few yards away from iir real life crime.
With DVD's though, I do find myself less inclined to scour for my old TV shows, some should be in some form of 'cult/classic TV' section not tucked in with kids DVD's where they would never have a reason to watch em (save for nostalgic parents).
